Switch Up Play Time

Posted June 18, 2018

Dogs, just like humans, need a variety of stimulating and engaging activities to avoid boredom. Changing the game up, will continually mentally stimulate your pup, while keeping them happy, healthy and engaged. When picking a toy,  it is important to know your dog's play and chew habits first. Each toy is built differently to fit the needs of different dogs. Read the list below to learn why each type of play is important and how to incorporate it into every day routines.

Indoor Roughhousing

Is the rain raining on your pups's playtime parade? Dogs will get antsy being inside all day if their usual outdoor play time is cancelled due to the weather. These toys are perfect for the dogs that can't get their outdoor playtime in, or if they are homebodies.

Interactive Play

It's important for dogs to socialize with people, but many also need dog-to-dog play time too. If your dog plays well with others, these two tug-of-war champion toys will make play time a fun, interactive game! Additionally, Bumi® stretches to twice its length, giving plenty of room between your hand and your dog.

Outdoor Play

Is the rain raining on your pups's playtime parade? Dogs will get antsy being inside all day if their usual outdoor play time is cancelled due to the weather. These toys are perfect for the dogs that can't get their outdoor playtime in or if they're more the homebody type.

Water Play

Take fetch to the water on those hot days. Water play is great exercise for dogs, and can be especially beneficial for senior dogs that have mobility issues. These colorful Zogoflex Air® toys will stay afloat and are easy to spot.

Test the Waters: Not all dogs know how to swim or enjoy water. Make sure your dog is comfortable and safe while in the water before diving in.

Brain Games

Make play time a treat, literally! Treat toys are perfect for stimulating your canine's cranium. It helps pace fast eaters, makes treats last longer, and can also act as a solution to external stresses such as lightning or fireworks.

Tip: Puzzle toys can require as much energy as a 3 mile walk for your dog!

Get Out!

Does your dog like long walks on the beach, or strolls in the park? If so, oh boy do we have a match for your good boy! Taking toys out of the picture for a little bit allows your dog to experience new sights, sounds, and smells, all while building up muscles (especially the heart!) and helps maintain a healthy weight. Our Jaunts™ and Strolls™ collars and leashes make going out easy and way more fun! Each leash has a special handle to suit your needs, and each collar has unique features to fit your pup's lifestyle.
