Feeding Guidelines
These treats are intended for intermittent or supplemental feeding only.

The American Grassfed Certification guarantees that our livestock is raised healthily with no antibiotics, on eco-friendly ranches that bolster rural economies in the US. Grass-fed meat is lean, yet packed with good fats, not to mention antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals—and wag-worthy flavor.

Safely preserved, without a single additive. Our freeze-drying process incorporates high-pressure pasteurization (HPP)—every treat is subjected to pressures greater than what you’d find in the deepest trench of the ocean. Pathogens and bacteria can’t take it (buh-bye!), but the flavor and nutrition are perfectly retained—no preservatives or additives required.

B Corps are the good guys: companies who champion the right thing—for staff, customers, and the environment. We’re proud to be not just a member, but a four-time winner of the Best for the World: Environment award.
We’ve been family-owned and operated since 1996. Pets aren’t the only ones we treat like family—we’ve also been named “Best Place to Work in Montana” as well as “One of America's Best Small Companies” by Forbes Magazine.

Treats FAQ
- What is your guarantee/return policy?
-
All of West Paw products are backed by our Love It Guarantee, just like all of our other products. Please visit our guarantee page to fill out our form or learn more.
- Why won't my creamy treats come out of the tube?
As these are all-natural dog treats, they lack artificial stabilizers typically used to keep food ingredients from separating. This lack of stabilizers can make the oil separate.
We recommend kneading the tube to combine ingredients and then squeeze the desired amount into a bowl. If necessary, continue to mix thoroughly until all ingredients are combined.
The benefits of a limited ingredient dog treat are that it provides pet parents the ability to control what exactly they are feeding their dog. A quality Limited Ingredient Diet (including treats) for dogs should be low in carbohydrates and high in quality proteins & fats.
Our freeze-dried treats have a best-by date that is 18 months from the time they are packaged. Freeze-dried treats should be kept in a sealed container, like the ziplock they come in.
The freeze-dried treats are preservative-free. In addition, we have sourced proteins that come from animals that are raised without growth hormones and antibiotics.
The Beef Liver and Beef Heart have just one ingredient.
The Pork and Duck Superfoods have up to 6 ingredients, none of which are preservatives.
Our creamy treats have a best-by date that is 18 months from the time they are packaged. Therefore, Creamy treats should be used by the "best by" date.

Our Peanut Butter Banana treat uses freshly ground peanuts and like any natural peanut butter in your pantry, the oil can separate. Our recommendation is to knead the tube prior to opening.
Beef Liver and Pumpkin treat contain a small amount of a natural preservative called lysine.
High temperatures may cause our Beef Liver & Pumpkin treat to temporarily liquefy. The thickening ingredient, tapioca starch, tends to revert to a liquid form at higher temps. If the treat gets runny, it is still safe and can be cooled in the refrigerator to regain its original, thicker consistency.

No. All our treats meet our high standards of safety and all are laboratory tested to verify they are free from harmful bacteria and microbes. If your treat is runny or too liquid, refrigerating the treat will return it to its original, thicker consistency.

Please see our Guarantee Analysis on the product pages as well as on the back of each package for a detailed ingredients list. This analysis measures protein, moisture, fat, fiber, and calculates calories in our treats.
Yes. Our Banana Creamy Treat does not contain any animal byproducts.
Dilated Cardiomyopathy (DCM) is a serious issue in some dogs. According to the Journal of Animal Science, there is no link between grain-free foods to DCM.
We recommend those dog owners who are concerned about DCM should work with their vets and trusted experts as well as feed their dogs a balanced diet and monitor and control their dogs' caloric intake (including the number of treats).
We work with the American Grassfed Association (AGA) as well as with our processor and co-packer to make sure the proteins are sourced from farms and ranches that humanely and sustainably raise their livestock. The pork in our treats is raised humanely without hormones or antibiotics in Washington State at a farm that prioritizes earth-friendly practices.
Freeze dried treats are made in Oregon and packaged in Utah.
Creamy treats are made and packaged in Utah.
Yes you can freeze the freeze dried treats for storage, but it is not necessary.
We do not recommend freezing the creamy treats for storage. The Beef Liver and Pumpkin should be refrigerated.
If you are preparing a treat mix in a Toppl or other toy to freeze, all our treats can be frozen in a toy for a cool and refreshing treat.
We believe that freeze drying does not affect the nutritional content of our foods. However, some proponents of raw foods for pets may argue that processing of any sort has the potential to change the nutritional content. We have chosen to freeze dry to be as close to raw as possible, with added safety for pets. There are no health risks to ingesting freeze dried foods.
