Peanut Butter + Banana:
Dogs love peanut butter, and we love treating it with a healthy gourmet upgrade—old-fashioned peanut butter made from just freshly ground peanuts and a kiss of sweetness from real banana. No sugar, no xylitol, no artificial sweeteners (or artificial anything)—just solid, simple nutrition for happy treating.

Please note Natural peanut butter (like ours) lack stabilizers, so the peanut's oils separate from the butter itself. This does not affect the quality of the product.

We recommend the following to get out all the goodness:

  1. Knead tube to combine ingredients before dispensing into any container.
  2. When opening the tub, use the back of the cap to push a large hole to puncture the aluminum spout.
  3. Squeeze out the desired amount into a small bowl and mix thoroughly to combine all ingredients.
  4. Place a creamy treat in the desired delivery mechanism, like one of our Treat Toys.
  5. Store Peanut Butter Creamy treat at room temperature.

Moderate peanut butter? Yep, it’s healthy! Peanut butter has gotten a bad rap because some brands are sweetened with xylitol, which is toxic to dogs. However, peanuts themselves are quite nutritious: they’re low on the glycemic index, full of healthful fats and fiber, and loaded with vitamins and minerals. Since too much fat can become unhealthy, you don’t want to go overboard, but as they say—all things in moderation.

Treats FAQ

What is your guarantee/return policy?

All of West Paw products are backed by our Love It Guarantee, just like all of our other products. Please visit our guarantee page to fill out our form or learn more.

Why won't my creamy treats come out of the tube?
  • Knead tube to combine ingredients before dispensing into any container.

  • Use the back of the cap to push a large hole into the aluminum.

  • Squeeze out the desired amount into a small bowl and mix thoroughly to combine.

  • Place the creamy treat in the desired delivery mechanism, we recommend a Treat Toy.

  • Store Peanut Butter Creamy treat at room temperature.

  • Refrigerate the Beef Liver Creamy after opening and let sit at room temperature for a few minutes to warm up before use.
Why did only oil come out of the peanut butter and banana creamy treat tube?

As these are all-natural dog treats, they lack artificial stabilizers typically used to keep food ingredients from separating. This lack of stabilizers can make the oil separate.

We recommend kneading the tube to combine ingredients and then squeeze the desired amount into a bowl. If necessary, continue to mix thoroughly until all ingredients are combined.

What are the benefits of single or limited ingredient treats for dogs?

The benefits of a limited ingredient dog treat are that it provides pet parents the ability to control what exactly they are feeding their dog. A quality Limited Ingredient Diet (including treats) for dogs should be low in carbohydrates and high in quality proteins & fats.

How long will your Freeze-Dried Treats Last?

Our freeze-dried treats have a best-by date that is 18 months from the time they are packaged. Freeze-dried treats should be kept in a sealed container, like the ziplock they come in.

Are there preservatives in your freeze-dried treats?

The freeze-dried treats are preservative-free. In addition, we have sourced proteins that come from animals that are raised without growth hormones and antibiotics.

The Beef Liver and Beef Heart have just one ingredient.
The Pork and Duck Superfoods have up to 6 ingredients, none of which are preservatives.

How long will your Creamy Treats last?

Our creamy treats have a best-by date that is 18 months from the time they are packaged. Therefore, Creamy treats should be used by the "best by" date.

Are there preservatives in your creamy treats?

Peanut butter and banana is preservative-free. Because the ingredients are all plant-based (peanuts and bananas) there are no antibiotics or hormones in the ingredients.

Beef Liver and Pumpkin treat contain a small amount of a natural preservative called lysine.

My peanut butter banana creamy treat is oily or has separated, is this normal?

Our Peanut Butter Banana treat uses freshly ground peanuts and like any natural peanut butter in your pantry, the oil can separate. Our recommendation is to knead the tube prior to opening.

Beef Liver and Pumpkin treat contain a small amount of a natural preservative called lysine.

I’ve noticed that my Beef Liver Creamy Treat is runny? Why and what should I do?

High temperatures may cause our Beef Liver & Pumpkin treat to temporarily liquefy. The thickening ingredient, tapioca starch, tends to revert to a liquid form at higher temps. If the treat gets runny, it is still safe and can be cooled in the refrigerator to regain its original, thicker consistency.

Beef Liver and Pumpkin treat contain a small amount of a natural preservative called lysine.

If my Beef Liver Creamy Treat liquifies, should I discard it?

No. All our treats meet our high standards of safety and all are laboratory tested to verify they are free from harmful bacteria and microbes. If your treat is runny or too liquid, refrigerating the treat will return it to its original, thicker consistency.

Is there any sugar in any of your treats?

There are zero added sugars in our treats.

Where can I find additional nutritional information?

Please see our Guarantee Analysis on the product pages as well as on the back of each package for a detailed ingredients list. This analysis measures protein, moisture, fat, fiber, and calculates calories in our treats.

Is your Peanut Butter and Banana Creamy Treat Vegan?

Yes. Our Banana Creamy Treat does not contain any animal byproducts.

Your treats are grain-free, what about DCM?

Dilated Cardiomyopathy (DCM) is a serious issue in some dogs. According to the Journal of Animal Science, there is no link between grain-free foods to DCM.

We recommend those dog owners who are concerned about DCM should work with their vets and trusted experts as well as feed their dogs a balanced diet and monitor and control their dogs' caloric intake (including the number of treats).

Is your sourcing from humane/sustainable farms? How do you know that?

We work with the American Grassfed Association (AGA) as well as with our processor and co-packer to make sure the proteins are sourced from farms and ranches that humanely and sustainably raise their livestock. The pork in our treats is raised humanely without hormones or antibiotics in Washington State at a farm that prioritizes earth-friendly practices.

    Where are your treats manufactured?

Freeze dried treats are made in Oregon and packaged in Utah.
Creamy treats are made and packaged in Utah.

Can you freeze your creamy treats?

Yes you can freeze the freeze dried treats for storage, but it is not necessary.

We do not recommend freezing the creamy treats for storage. The Beef Liver and Pumpkin should be refrigerated.

If you are preparing a treat mix in a Toppl or other toy to freeze, all our treats can be frozen in a toy for a cool and refreshing treat.

Does freeze drying affect nutritional content of the food?

We believe that freeze drying does not affect the nutritional content of our foods. However, some proponents of raw foods for pets may argue that processing of any sort has the potential to change the nutritional content. We have chosen to freeze dry to be as close to raw as possible, with added safety for pets. There are no health risks to ingesting freeze dried foods.

    Love hate relationship

    August 29, 2020

My dog loves this, but I don’t! Every time I go to use it, I can’t get it out of the tube because the peanut butter has solidified. I’d recommend changing the packaging - that might resolve this issue.

    Hello Catherine,

Thank you for the feedback about the Peanut Butter and Banana Creamy Treat.  We’re glad to know that your dog enjoys it!   To make it easier to dispense, it can help to use a toothpick or something similar if the product has solidified at the tip.  If it has been in the refrigerator, leaving it out for a bit and then gently kneading it before dispensing helps as well.  Thank you again for reaching out.

    Dried up and exploded

    August 23, 2020

I bought this and my dog did like the taste a lot, but the second time I tried to use it 2 hours later, the end had almost completely dried up and I could barely get any treat out of the end. Maybe a pinky finger tip amount at a time. I probably should have just found a tooth pick to clean out all the dried stuff from the end, but I thought it wasn't super dried up? However I was wrong. As I was trying to push more treat out to give to my dog, the back end of the packaging exploded open. I don't know if I was supposed to try and stir or shake up the stuff or something?
It's probably an okay product? But keep a stick handy to clean out the end.

    Dried up and exploded

    August 25, 2020

    Hello Cassie,

Thank you for your feedback regarding our new creamy treat.  Our recommendation is to gently knead the tube prior to opening, as separation can happen with the natural peanut butter.  Your suggestion of a something like a toothpick to clear the opening is also a good idea.  We are happy to honor our Love It Guarantee and send a replacement due to the split tube.  Please just visit our website at

    Thank you,
