Eco Expansion to more than Double West Paw's Manufacturing Facilities

Posted January 26, 2010

When West Paw Design built its current office and manufacturing facility in 2001, the company already had a road map for expansion in place -- ensuring that future growth could be accomplished with minimal environmental impact. Instead of using traditional building techniques, West Paw Design constructed  exterior walls using 10-foot wide concrete panels that could be reused and relocated.  Nearly 10 years later that pre-planning has allowed West Paw Design to reuse 175 tons of concrete by moving

a 140-foot southern exterior wall 98 feet south rather than demolishing it and sending materials to the landfill.

Both the Bozeman Daily Chronicle and Bozeman's CBS affiliate KBZK came out to capture the action as construction crews from R&R Taylor Construction relocated the final 24,000 pound panels to finalize the new exterior wall.
